If you're craving the pillow-y sweet softness of Hawaiian rolls, look no further! This is a simple instant-yeast recipe with delicious results. These rolls are perfect for burgers or sliders!

Preparation Time: | 3 hours |
Baking Time: | 30 minutes |
Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups flour
3 tbsp melted butter
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1 egg for egg wash
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup light brown sugar
2 tbsp active dry yeast
Directions:
Heat butter and melt, add in 1/2 cup of milk to pan. This butter/milk mix should be warm. Neither too hot, or cold.
Place yeast in a mixing bowl. Add in the butter/milk mixture and water. Add flour, sugar and salt. Mix everything together and let sit for a few minutes. If the mixture seems wet, go ahead and add more flour.

Gently knead on a lightly floured surface, and let rest a few minutes. Repeat until you have a nice smooth ball.
Tip: A little vegetable oil on your hands, or even water, will prevent sticking to your hands and thus, prevent adding flour that is not necessary.

post-proof Let proof in a mixing bowl until over double in size. This usually takes about an hour, but everyone's environment is different.
Punch down dough and form small round balls. Kneaded smooth, and about 90 grams each.

Lightly grease and flour a casserole style baking dish. Place the balls in the baking dish, cover and let them rise again until they are touching.
